Forage Cookbook

It’s here. This baby that I (and the rest of the amazing Forage team) have been working on is finally here – Forage Cookbook. Forage is a simply gorgeous hardcover book filled with recipes from chefs, cooks, restaurants and food folks from around the state of Victoria, with a strong focus on our own local produce. It also has some of the most stunning imagery around from my dear friend Jessica Shaver, showing off the producers, cooks, and passionate food people that make this state’s food scene so darn great. We like to call it a love letter to the state of Victoria.

The best part about Forage (apart from how pretty it is) is that it’s a social business – proceeds from the book are going toward local not-for-profit Upside Nepal, to support village development and entrepreneurial subsistence farmers in Nepal.

Books are available at many of the venues featured in the pages of Forage, as well as independent retailers like Books for Cooks etc. Alternatively, you can buy it direct and have it shipped directly to your door right HERE.

Forage Crowdfunding Campaign – LAST DAYS!

Forage Cookbook is in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign, with a goal to raise $25,000 by Saturday 17th October! There’s very little time left, but you can still get over there and pre-order your copy of Forage (or indulge in one of the other great rewards). The money raised will help offset the costs of printing and distribution, allowing us to print and sell even more books, which in turn allows us to give even more money to Upside Nepal to assist entrepreneurial subsistence farmers in Nepal. There’s some great classes, both new and repeats, with some fantastic Christmas sessions closer to the end of the year! Forage Cookbook

For the last year, I have been working on a long-term cookbook project called Forage, which is all about telling the stories of, sharing the recipes of, and showing off chefs, cooks, restaurants, producers and food folks from all around the state of Victoria. The book is produced in partnership with local charity Upside Nepal, with profits going toward supporting agriculture businesses there. It’s a ridiculously amazing project, and we’re currently sharing the story of my and my photographer’s (Jessica Shaver) 3,000 + km road trip around the state making this happen over on the website – Forage Cookbook. You can also check us out on Facebook and Instagram (@foragecookbook) for more behind the scenes fun and updates on the book. Forage Cookbook will be out later this year in November, and I know I for one cannot wait to get my sweaty little hands on the fruits of our labours!
